On September 25, Pawan Kalyan, the Telugu actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, finally made his much anticipated movie They Call Him OG available in theaters. The movie had a huge opening weekend at the box office, but it slowed down in the days that followed. Chiranjeevi, Pawan's brother, has now evaluated the movie and praised it for being up to Hollywood standards.

Reviews of Chiranjeevi They refer to him as "OG."
Chiranjeevi posted his opinions about They Call Him OG on X (previously Twitter) on Tuesday. "I watched #TheyCallHimOG with my entire family and really enjoyed every minute of it," he added. A masterfully produced underground gangster movie that maintains the appropriate emotions while being on par with Hollywood standards. Congratulations to the entire team and Producer Danayya.

Why They Refer to Him as the Original
The narrative centers on Pawan Kalyan's character Ojas Gambheera (OG), a formidable and feared mobster who leaves Mumbai and reappears ten years later to regain control and take on a rival crime lord. Emraan Hashmi makes his Telugu cinema debut in the role of Omi Bhau, the antagonist who takes over while OG is away. In important supporting parts, the cast also features Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy, Arjun Das, and Priyanka Mohan.

Performance at the box office
When the movie first came out, it had mixed reviews. On its first day, it brought in ₹63.75 crore, and in just two days, it surpassed the ₹100 crore milestone. On the other hand, collections fell precipitously on the second day and much more on the first Monday. In spite of this, within six days of its release, They Call Him OG brought in ₹149.73 crore in India and over ₹200 crore globally.
