Sensex Rebounds Over 1,000 Points From Day’s Low; Nifty 50 Ends Near 25,800 on India-US Trade Deal Hopes

The Indian stock market snapped its five-day losing streak on Monday, January 12, as benchmark indices staged a sharp intraday recovery on value buying and optimism surrounding a potential India-US trade deal.

The BSE Sensex settled at 83,878.17, gaining 302 points or 0.36%. Notably, the index rebounded nearly 1,017 points from its intraday low of 82,861, highlighting strong buying interest at lower levels.

Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 closed at 25,790.25, up 107 points or 0.42%, after recovering sharply from early-session losses.

However, the broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The BSE Midcap index declined 0.41%, while the Smallcap index fell 0.68%, indicating selective buying.

The total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies rose marginally to around ₹469 lakh crore, compared with nearly ₹468 lakh crore in the previous session.

Indian Stock Market Today: 10 Key Highlights
