Netanyahu Accepts Trump’s Invitation to Join Gaza ‘Board of Peace’: Full List of Participating Nations

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday accepted US President Donald Trump’s invitation to join the proposed “Board of Peace”, a new international initiative focused on supporting a ceasefire and post-conflict governance framework for Gaza.

In addition to Israel, several countries have already accepted Trump’s offer to join the Board of Peace. These include Azerbaijan, Argentina, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

An official statement shared via the Israeli Prime Minister’s X (formerly Twitter) account said that Netanyahu has agreed to become a member of the Board of Peace, which is expected to be composed of global leaders and policymakers.

According to sources, Trump has extended invitations to at least 60 countries as part of what is being described as a conflict-resolution mechanism, drawing comparisons to a parallel diplomatic forum similar to the UN Security Council. Trump is expected to formally announce details of the Board of Peace on Thursday during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

India has also received an invitation to join the initiative. US Ambassador Sergio Gor confirmed on X that an invitation was conveyed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the Board of Peace aims to promote long-term stability, governance, and prosperity in Gaza.

Invitations have additionally been extended to China and Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, French President Emmanuel Macron indicated that France would not participate in the initiative, despite reported trade tensions involving French wines and champagne.

Purpose and structure of the Board of Peace

According to the White House, the Board of Peace will provide strategic oversight as Gaza transitions from conflict toward peace and reconstruction. The body is expected to support effective governance, mobilise international resources, and ensure accountability while implementing a 20-point Gaza peace plan proposed by Trump.

The concept of the Board of Peace was first introduced in September last year when Trump outlined his plan for Gaza’s post-war administration. The proposal included a temporary transitional governance model led by a technocratic, non-political Palestinian committee responsible for daily public services, operating under the supervision of the Board of Peace.

How countries can become members

Under the proposed framework:

Membership is by invitation from the US President

Each member state will serve a three-year term, according to AFP

The term limit does not apply to countries contributing more than $1 billion in cash funds within the first year of the charter’s implementation

Is there a membership fee?

The White House has clarified that there is no minimum membership fee to join the Board of Peace. In a statement posted on its official Rapid Response X account, it said permanent membership is offered to partner nations that demonstrate a strong commitment to peace, security, and economic development.

Executive Board members

The Executive Board tasked with operationalising the initiative reportedly includes Secretary Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Sir Tony Blair, Marc Rowan, Ajay Banga, and Robert Gabriel.
