Following the victory of Indian-American candidate Zohran Mamdani in the New York mayoral election, US President Donald Trump shared a terrifying statement on his social media accounts.

According to the Associated Press, Mamdani, a Democrat, earned 50.3% of the vote, while former Governor Andrew Cuomo received 41.6% with 88% of the total. Curtis Sliwa, a Republican, received 7.2%.

Trump commented on Truth Social, "and so it begins!" without going into too much detail.

The US President's post was made just minutes after Mamdani promised to eradicate the rotten culture that allows millionaires like Donald Trump to avoid paying taxes in his initial speech to supporters.

The recently elected mayor declared, "Donald Trump, I know you are watching, so I have four words for you: turn the volume up."

Mamdani made a mocking pledge to "put an end to 'the culture of corruption' that has allowed billionaires like Trump to evade taxation and exploit tax breaks."

Managing the city's relationship with the White House will be one of Mamdani's first tasks as mayor. Trump has attacked Mamdani on multiple occasions, labeling him a "communist lunatic" and threatening to stop funding the city.

Trump wrote on Monday, "I firmly believe that if Mamdani wins, New York City will be a Complete and Total Economic and Social Disaster." "As President, I don't want to send good money after bad."

However, Mamdani praised the overthrow of a political dynasty and stated in his opening remarks that the future is in their hands. We have overthrown a political dynasty, so the future is in our hands. Zohran Mamdani told the citizens of New York, "We will fight for you because we are you."

Concerning Zohran Mamdani
Born in Uganda, Zohran Mamdani is the son of Oscar-nominated filmmaker Mira Nair and Columbia University professor and colonialism expert Mahmood Mamdani.

Before pursuing a career in politics, he worked as a foreclosure-prevention counselor at a nonprofit organization called Chhaya, worked as a rap artist, and attended Bronx High School of Science and Bowdoin College in Maine. He moved to New York at the age of seven.

In 2018, he obtained US citizenship, and in 2020, he was elected to the Assembly to represent a seat in western Queens.
