Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have returned to Bengaluru following RCB's victory in the IPL 2025 Finals against Punjab Kings. However, the city will not host a victory parade.
Anushka Sharma has consistently supported Virat Kohli during the IPL seasons when his team fell short of winning the trophy, even after reaching the finals. This changed for the first time on Tuesday when Royal Challengers Bengaluru achieved a significant victory in the IPL 2025 finals against Punjab Kings. After rushing to embrace her husband Virat following the historic win, the couple has now returned to Bengaluru for a felicitation ceremony.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are back in Bengaluru. On Wednesday, Anushka shared the first glimpse of Virat Kohli with the golden IPL Trophy. Radiating happiness, Kohli held the trophy close as the team traveled to the event venue in a bus.
Police have been stationed at various sites across Bengaluru.
Anushka shared a touching video, captioning it, "Namma Bengaluru current scenes." She included a praying hands emoji along with the song by A. R. Rahman and Sid Sriram playing in the background.
No victory parade for RCB
Previously, the Bengaluru Traffic Police announced that there would be no victory celebration for the team in the city on Wednesday. Instead, a grand felicitation event is scheduled at M Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 PM to 6 PM.
Authorities have advised the public to steer clear of roads near Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium between 3 PM and 8 PM due to anticipated traffic congestion.
The Karnataka government will host the felicitation ceremony.
Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed this information and stated that there will be no procession (victory parade) for security reasons, according to PTI.
"The team will arrive at Vidhana Soudha by bus and will travel to the cricket stadium by bus after the felicitation. There will be no procession in an open vehicle, as the Karnataka State Cricket Academy (KSCA) has declined this for security considerations. After the Chief Minister honors the team, one or two members may speak on behalf of the team, but there will be no further activities. The KSCA has their program planned in the stadium. All necessary security and traffic measures have been arranged," he stated.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will honor the Rajat Patidar-led team on the steps of the iconic Vidhana Soudha, which houses the state legislature and secretariat. "I congratulate all the members of the RCB team, and I also extend my congratulations to their fans. The entire country and state take pride in them; RCB has never won the IPL, and this is the eighteenth season in which they have triumphed, bringing me immense joy," Siddaramaiah remarked.
