Dubai & Abu Dhabi Flight Status LIVE: UAE, Qatar Airspace Closed; 350+ India Flights Cancelled Amid Iran Conflict

Dubai & Abu Dhabi Airport Closed LIVE Updates: Air India, IndiGo Cancel Flights – March 2 Travel Alert

Major airports across the Middle East, including Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport, and Hamad International Airport, have suspended operations following escalating military tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran. The widespread airspace closures have disrupted global travel, leaving tens of thousands of passengers stranded.

According to official updates, more than 350 flights to and from India were cancelled on Sunday alone, with further disruptions expected.

UAE & Qatar Shut Airspace After Regional Escalation

The crisis intensified after reported US and Israeli strikes on Iran triggered retaliatory actions across the region. Several Gulf countries temporarily closed their airspace as a precautionary measure, impacting some of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

Dubai’s main airport — the global hub for Emirates — suspended all flight operations until further notice. Abu Dhabi’s airport also halted departures and arrivals.

Qatar’s civil aviation authority confirmed the temporary closure of its airspace, directly affecting Qatar Airways, one of the world’s largest international carriers.

Airlines That Have Cancelled Flights

Several international and Indian airlines have either suspended or reduced operations across the Middle East. These include:

Emirates suspended operations to and from Dubai until at least 3 March, 1500 hrs UAE time.

Etihad Airways halted flights to and from Abu Dhabi until 3 March, 2 pm.

Air India cancelled flights to UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. Some Europe-bound services were also affected.

IndiGo extended cancellations of select Middle East routes until 2 March, 2359 hrs IST.

Singapore Airlines cancelled select Dubai flights until 7 March.

Indian Airports Impacted

Airports across India reported major disruptions, including:

  • Kochi (45 departures cancelled)
  • Kolkata (20+ international flights cancelled)
  • Delhi (issued travel advisory)
  • Hyderabad
  • Chennai
  • Bengaluru
  • Jaipur
  • Pune

The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that over 350 Middle East-bound flights were cancelled within 24 hours.

Passengers Stranded Across Region

Authorities in the UAE stated that over 20,000 affected passengers are being assisted amid the disruption. Travelers have reported being stuck in airports, hotels, and transit hubs with limited clarity on when operations will resume.

Some governments, including the US, UK, and China, have evacuated embassy staff and issued travel advisories as a precaution.

Meanwhile, EaseMyTrip announced plans for charter flights from Oman to India to assist stranded passengers.
