The 2026 T20 World Cup begins on February 7 and concludes on March 8. Eight locations in Sri Lanka and India have been selected to host the 2026 T20 World Cup. All of Pakistan's games will be place in Sri Lanka.
As the worldwide cricketing event gets ready to begin next month, the final teams for the T20 World Cup 2026 have begun to settle in. Former champions Australia and England have already announced their provincial squads for the T20 World Cup 2026, but defending champions India were the first to do so.
India and Sri Lanka will co-host the 10th T20 World Cup. Pakistan will play all of their games in Sri Lanka, including the knockout stages if they qualify, even though the majority of the competition will take place in India. On February 7, the 2026 T20 World Cup will begin.
On the first day, there will be up to three games, including a match between the USA and the hosts, India. March 8 is the date of the final. Four groups of five teams each have been formed from twenty teams. In the group stage, each team will play four games. The top two teams advance to the Super 8 stage, where eight teams will be split into two groups.
Each group's top two Super 8 teams advance to the semifinals. It should be mentioned that eight seeded teams were revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) before the competition. The ICC claims that the seeding was done for practical reasons.
In the Super 8 stage, the seedings will be taken into consideration. Regardless of where they finished in the group round, the eight seeded teams will occupy their designated spots in the Super 8 stage. The slot of the seeded team that did not advance to the following round would be taken by an unseeded team that qualifies for the Super 8 round.
For instance, regardless of where they end up in Group A, India and Pakistan have been seeded as A1 and A2.
