Due to the aftermath from Mustafizur Rahman, the Bangladeshi government has banned IPL broadcasting indefinitely.
On Monday, the Indian Premier League (IPL) broadcast was banned indefinitely by Bangladesh's interim government. The decision was made following the removal of a Bangladeshi cricket player from the next season of the wealthiest franchise league in the world due to the ongoing political unrest between the two nations. Last December in Abu Dhabi, Mustafizur was purchased for ₹9.20 crore at the IPL 2026 mini auction.
Devajit Saikia, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced on Saturday that the Board has requested that Mustafizur be released by the KKR team, "citing recent developments." The Bangladeshi cricket community was not pleased with the decision.
There will be more soon.
