Trump's admiration for India and Prime Minister Modi is shared by the US Embassy: "Amazing country, great friend in Indian PM"

Trump called India a "amazing country" and a vital strategic ally in the Indo-Pacific area, praising it as one of the world's oldest civilizations.

As US and Indian negotiators attempt to settle disagreements over an elusive trade deal, the US Embassy in India relayed President Donald Trump's admiration for India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As one of the oldest civilizations in the world, Trump hailed India as a "amazing country" and a crucial strategic ally of the US in the Indo-Pacific. Additionally, he referred to PM Modi as a "great friend."

"One of the oldest civilizations in the world is found in India," it stated. It is a fantastic nation and a crucial strategic ally of the United States in the Indo-Pacific area.

In a phone conversation with Donald Trump on December 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed India-US relations and pledged to keep working together for world peace, stability, and prosperity.

PM Modi and Donald Trump reviewed the advancements in the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and talked about growing commerce, essential technologies, energy, defense, and security cooperation.

Following his phone chat with Donald Trump, Narendra Modi posted on X, saying, "Had a very warm and engaging conversation with President Trump." We talked about regional and global developments and assessed the state of our bilateral relations.

The prime minister went on, "India and the U.S. will continue to work together for global peace, stability, and prosperity." They also decided to cooperate closely in order to solve problems and further mutual goals.

Trump and Prime Minister Modi both expressed gratitude for the two nations' steadily improving relations. They emphasized the necessity of maintaining pace in initiatives to improve bilateral commerce, particularly as trade negotiations between the US and India continue.

"PM and President Trump underlined the importance of sustaining momentum in shared efforts to enhance bilateral trade," said the press release.

Will Trump travel to India in 2019?
Donald Trump had lauded the Indian prime minister earlier in November, referring to him as "a great man" and "a friend." Additionally, when his administration imposed 50% tariffs on goods from New Delhi, he had intimated that he would travel to India next year as part of the ongoing efforts to improve trade relations between the two countries.

After announcing a new agreement to reduce the cost of weight-loss medications, Trump told reporters at the White House that his negotiations with Prime Minister Modi were "going great."

"PM Modi mostly ceased purchasing goods from Russia. Additionally, I talk to him since we are friends. Narendra Modi, the prime minister, is a wonderful man. I spoke to a friend of mine, and he encourages me to go there. I'll go, and we'll work that out. "I will be going, and Prime Minister Modi is a great man," Trump declared.

"It could be, yes," Trump said in response to a direct question about whether he intended to visit India next year.
