Flight Status Today 19 December LIVE: Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is experiencing flight delays and cancellations due to heavy fog and the ensuing decrease in visibility. While travelers experienced a nearly hour-long delay at Delhi Airport, airlines had to adjust their schedules and passengers.
"Due to prevailing dense fog conditions, flight operations are currently being managed under CAT III conditions, which has led to disruptions in flight schedules," DIAL stated in a passenger alert released on Friday morning, warning of delays under CAT III conditions. For the most recent flight status, it advised travelers to contact their carriers.
In order to prevent annoyance, the Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a warning about severe fog over northern India. Passengers were advised to check the status of their flights before departing and to leave extra time for travel.
"The persistent fog conditions in Northern India are impacting airport operations," MoCA wrote in a post on X. To avoid inconvenience, travelers are encouraged to plan their trips with extra travel time, stay in contact with their airlines for real-time flight updates, and often check official airline and airport websites or apps. Teams of passenger facilitators are stationed at airports to offer the required support.
Amidst heavy fog over Delhi, a number of airlines, including IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express, and SpiceJet, issued travel advisories. Due to heavy fog affecting aircraft operations at the airports in Chandigarh, Ranchi, Patna, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi, IndiGo issued a traveler advisory on December 18.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said that Delhi's air quality was poor on Friday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 372 around 5 p.m.
