A new development in the Bondi Beach shooting case: according to a report, the suspect father entered the Philippines as a "Indian national."

As police find ISIS flags and homemade bombs, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese claimed that the Bondi Beach shooting, which was carried out by a father and son, was motivated by Islamic State ideology.

Shooting in Bondi Beach: According to an AFP report claiming confirmation from Manila's immigration authorities, the father and son suspected of carrying out one of Australia's bloodiest mass shootings spent almost the whole month of November in the Philippines.

According to Philippine investigators, the older suspect used an Indian passport to enter the nation. The southern city of Davao was identified as the final destination for Sajid Akram and his son Naveed Akram, who are accused of killing fifteen people and injuring numerous more during a Hanukkah celebration on Sydney's Bondi Beach. They arrived in the Philippines on November 1.

"Sajid Akram, 50, Indian national, and Naveed Akram, 24, Australian national, arrived in the Philippines together last November 1, 2025 from Sydney, Australia," immigration official Dana Sandoval told AFP. The two left the country on November 28.

The PM of Australia claims that the gunmen at Bondi Beach were motivated by "Islamic State ideology."
According to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, a father and son who are suspected of carrying out one of the deadliest mass shootings in the nation were motivated by "Islamic State ideology," implying that radicalization was the driving force.

On Sunday night, during celebrations for the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, Sajid Akram and his son Naveed Akram allegedly opened fire on crowds gathered at Bondi Beach in Sydney, killing fifteen people and injured dozens more.

Although there are currently few facts available regarding the gunmen's underlying objectives, authorities have stated that the shooting was meant to instill fear in Australia's Jewish population.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mr. Albanese provided the most lucid explanation of the ideological motivations for the violence to date.

He told national broadcaster ABC, "It would seem that this was motivated by Islamic State ideology."

"The world has been grappling with extremism and this hateful ideology since the rise of ISIS more than ten years ago," the prime minister continued in a different interview.

Shortly after the shooting, police looking into the incident found a car belonging to Naveed Akram parked near the shore.
