Gal Gadot discloses that she had surgery during birth after being diagnosed with a blood clot in her brain during her fourth pregnancy.

Gal Gadot, who gave birth to her fourth child, a girl named Ori, earlier this year, disclosed that she needed surgery right away due to a blood clot in her brain.

Earlier this year, Gal Gadot gave birth to Ori, her fourth daughter. The actor has now disclosed that her most recent pregnancy wasn't easy. She was found to have cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), a blood clot in the brain that, according to her, affects 3 out of 100,000 pregnant women in the 30s and older.

Gal Gadot's remarks

On Monday morning, Gal posted an image from the hospital on her social media accounts, showing her sipping black coffee while gazing at her newborn baby, who is sleeping in her arms.

This year has been filled with deep observations and significant obstacles, and I've struggled with whether or not to share a personal narrative," she wrote in the caption. I ultimately made the decision to follow my heart. Maybe this is how I digest everything and reveal the brittle reality that lies beneath the well manicured moments we post on social media. Above all, I hope that by sharing, I might help others who might be going through a similar situation and increase awareness.

"I was diagnosed with a large blood clot in my brain in February, when I was eight months pregnant. I had suffered from terrible headaches that kept me in bed for weeks.until the horrifying reality was ultimately exposed via an MRI. My family and I were suddenly reminded of how fleeting life can be. It served as a sobering reminder of how swiftly things can change, and throughout a trying year, all I wanted was to hang on and survive," she explained.

"I had emergency surgery a few hours after we hurried to the hospital. In that time of terror and uncertainty, my daughter Ori was born. Her name, which translates to "my light," wasn't picked at random. I assured Jaron prior to the procedure that our daughter would be the hope that I was looking forward to when she arrived.I survived and started the healing process because of the incredible medical staff at @cedarssinai and weeks of committed care. I am completely recovered today and am incredibly thankful for the life that has been restored to me," Gal continued.

"I've learned so much from the journey. First and foremost, we must pay attention to our bodies and believe what they are telling us. Being aware of your body can save your life, and pain, discomfort, or even small changes can have deeper meanings. Second, awareness is important. I was unaware that 3 out of 100,000 pregnant women in their 30s and older are diagnosed with CVT, which is a condition in which a blood clot forms in the brain. Since it is curable, early detection is crucial. Although uncommon,It is a possibility, and the first step in dealing with it is acknowledging its existence. The purpose of sharing this is to empower, not to fear. It will have been worthwhile to share our tale if it inspires even one person to take action for their health," Gal said.
